HOW TO BECOME A MEMBER

By Profession Of Faith And Baptism:

If you will receive Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, and obediently follow Him in baptism by immersion, we welcome you into our fellowship.

By Letter:

As a Baptist whose church membership is elsewhere, we will be pleased to welcome you into our church family should God direct you here. We will gladly take care of appropriate details for transferring your membership.

By Statement:

In the event church membership records are not available for a transfer of membership, or if you were once a Baptist Church member, but are presently a member of another denomination, we will accept you upon your statement of these conditions.

By Baptism From Another Denomination:

By profession of your personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior bearing testimony that you are saved and want to become a member of Post Falls Baptist Church, we invite you to join by baptism. This gives testimony of your salvation and your obedience to His direction. You may express your desire to become a member of Post Falls Baptist Church by presenting yourself during the invitation at the close of any worship service. Of course, any decision assumes your commitment to being faithful in prayer and participation in our Lord’s work here at Post Falls Baptist Church.

SALVATION ACCORDING TO SCRIPTURE

HOW DOES A PERSON BECOME A CHRISTIAN?

Who is good?

As it is written, There is none righteous, no not one.
    ROMANS 3:10

Who has sinned?

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.
    ROMANS 3:23

Where did sin come from?

Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.
    ROMANS 5:12

What is sin’s price?

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
    ROMANS 6:23

Our way out?

Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
    ACTS 20:21

But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
    ROMANS 5:8

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
    ROMANS 10:13

  • Take God at His word and claim His promise for salvation.
  • Bow your head and sincerely ask the Lord Jesus Christ to forgive you of your sin and come into your life as Lord and Savior.
  • That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on Him shall not be ashamed.
        ROMANS 10:9-11

  • You must believe that Jesus Christ died for you, and confess before God and men that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior.

  • THE BIBLE AND BAPTISM

  • Christ commands baptism. Baptism does not save, but is an act of obedience to Christ’s command.
        Matt. 28:19-20
  • Christ was baptized. Christ began His public ministry by being baptized.
        Matt. 3:13-17
  • The Greek word “baptizo” means immersion in water.
        Jesus was immersed, Mk. 1:9-11.
His followers were immersed, Jn. 4:1-2.
The early church practiced baptism by immersion, Acts 2:41.
  • Baptism is a picture, symbolizing the believer’s faith in the death, burial and resurrection of Christ, and our death to sin and new life in Christ,
        I Cor. 15:1-4; Rom. 6:3-5.
  • After receiving Christ one should be baptized as soon as possible,
        Acts 8:35-38; Acts 16:25-34.
